Un-bee-lievable! Local car retailer helps drivers battling hay fever with latest technology

A Chester car retailer is helping drivers battling with hay fever this summer by offering cutting-edge air purification in its latest car line-up.

With summer here and temperatures soaring, so too is the pollen count, causing trouble for many hay fever sufferers. And with the Met Office warning of a ‘pollen bomb’ in the coming months, many drivers are left dreading the sunny season.

To help Chester drivers get some respite, Rybrook Chester on Sovereign Way is taking steps to help customers breathe cleaner air this summer through cutting-edge air purification in its latest cars.

The Advanced Air Cleaner, part of the latest air-purification technology available on Volvo Cars’ new 60 and 90 series models, has been certified asthma and allergy friendly by Allergy Standards Limited (ASL), and can remove up to 99.9 per cent of grass, tree and weed pollen allergens, and more than 97 per cent of airborne viruses from the incoming air.

Drivers of the latest Volvo cars* will also be able to use live data showing outdoor pollen and air quality levels in the car’s centre display, to assess whether to purify the air in the cabin of their car. This in-house-developed app makes Volvo Cars the first car maker to provide live data of outdoor pollen levels to drivers.

Mike Brooks, Head of Business at Rybrook Chester, said: “Creating a comfortable, enjoyable and safe driving experience remains a top priority and at the forefront of all Volvo Cars’ designs.

“This latest air-purification technology is a fantastic addition to our cars that guarantees an enjoyable and healthy drive throughout this hotter season – especially for drivers who regularly suffer from asthma and allergies.

“In addition to the obvious personal health benefits, studies have shown that cleaner air can also help boost concentration, ensuring drivers remain more focused during their drive. We invite drivers who are struggling with allergies to visit our showroom this summer and learn more about this innovative technology from one of our team.”

Allergy Standards Limited is an independent certification programme that helps consumers identify products that are suitable for people with asthma and allergies.
