The Heat Pump Warehouse heads to Edinburgh and Westminster to connect heat-pump supply chain with public sector delivery

The Heat Pump Warehouse has confirmed it will attend two major national conferences this autumn as public sector heat decarbonisation moves from policy commitments into live project delivery, marking a step in the Cheshire-based company’s wider expansion plans.

The renewable heating specialist, which supplies products from more than 20 renewable-energy brands to trade and public sector customers, will attend the Net Zero Scotland Projects Conference at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh, on September 3, followed by the Net Zero Nations Projects Conference at One Great George Street, Westminster, on October 6.

The business will use the two events to better understand how national net-zero policies, funding programmes and clean-heat targets are translating into real projects on the ground.

Representatives will hear directly from local authorities, NHS estates teams, housing associations, universities, colleges and other public bodies responsible for delivering heat decarbonisation, retrofit and energy-efficiency programmes.

The Heat Pump Warehouse intends to take those insights back to its network of manufacturers, installers, contractors and renewable-technology partners, helping the wider supply chain understand the technical, financial and operational challenges facing public-sector project owners.

The timing reflects mounting pressure on the public sector to act. Scotland’s Climate Change Plan sets out that around 1.9 million homes and 14,000 public buildings will need to move to clean heating systems such as heat pumps and heat networks by 2045.

In England, the UK Government’s Warm Homes Plan commits £15 billion of public investment and aims to upgrade up to five million homes, alongside targets to grow annual heat-pump installations to more than 450,000 by 2030.

Jonathan Jones, founder of The Heat Pump Warehouse, said: “We work with a wide range of
manufacturers, installers and renewable-heating specialists, but it’s equally important that we
understand what the organisations responsible for major projects actually need from the supply chain.

“We want to learn which technologies public-sector bodies are considering, what types of buildings and estates they’re working with, and where projects are being delayed by specification, funding, procurement, skills or delivery capacity.

“Attending both conferences will allow us to hear directly from project owners and take that
intelligence back to the manufacturers and industry partners we work with.”

Lee Etchells, Managing Director of Net Zero Club, which organises both conferences, said: “The transition to clean heat won’t be delivered by policy alone. It requires public-sector project owners and the private-sector supply chain to understand one another.

“The Heat Pump Warehouse’s decision to attend both conferences is exactly the type of industry engagement we want to encourage – listening to the people responsible for projects, understanding the barriers they face, and identifying where products, expertise and commercial partnerships can help move those projects into delivery.”

Questions the business hopes to answer at the two events include whether manufacturers are
producing systems suited to complex public buildings and housing portfolios, whether products are flexible enough for historic, rural and hard-to-treat buildings, and whether installers are receiving sufficient training and technical support to deliver projects at public-sector scale.
