What are the Best Cities for a Business Trip in the UK?

Travelling for business is a great opportunity to experience new locations and promote your company. The pandemic saw business travel reduce by 61% in 2020, but luckily things seem to be improving again. Business trips don’t necessarily mean jetting off abroad, particularly when the UK is home to some of the world’s leading cities for business. Deciding on the right places to visit can be difficult, especially when you need to factor in the costs of accommodation, transport and places to spend your free time. Here we do the work for you and discuss some of the best places to arrange a business trip in the UK.

Bristol

Bristol was actually named the best city for business trips in the UK in a study conducted by Dojo. The research focused on different useful aspects businesspersons look for when organising trips, like hotel costs, proximity to the airport, taxi fares and internet connection. Internet speeds are impressively high in most parts of the city and there is a low crime rate, which should help put your mind at ease if you are unfamiliar with the area.

London

The capital of the United Kingdom, and one of the world’s leading business hubs, London is an ideal choice for a business trip.  Depending on where you depart from, London can be a long and arduous journey. However, by checking the trains to London Kings Cross in advance, you can make this process much easier, choosing when you want to arrive and potentially avoiding long queues. Once you get here, however, you are fortunate to be met with a variety of transport options to ensure you reach your meetings on time. The networking events and opportunities here are endless, which is great if you are wanting to expand your business or form some important connections.

Leeds

The city, located in West Yorkshire, has always been renowned for business trips thanks to its reasonably cheap hotel room rates, cheap transport and an abundance of unique restaurants to grab a bite to eat. The city is incredibly well connected to other regions of its country, allowing those from London, Manchester and Edinburgh to travel via train with ease – it’s no wonder it’s the busiest station outside of London. Leeds is forever growing, with the city seeing a rapid rise in the number of businesses and foreign direct investments.

Manchester

Since the industrial revolution, Manchester has remained a hub for business travel. With the city being so big, it is often difficult to decide how to spend your time. Luckily, it is very easy to find your way around, with a selection of trams, trains and taxis at your doorstep once you arrive. Some of the biggest names worldwide are based here, meaning you’ll be able to meet with the best in the business should you play your cards right.
