Kerala Canteen Introduces Its Largest Seasonal Menu to Date

LEEDS, UK. June 1, 2026 — Renowned Leeds restaurant Kerala Canteen has unveiled a major summer menu refresh, bringing together classic Kerala flavours, Yorkshire-sourced ingredients and contemporary presentation. The latest launch represents the restaurant’s most comprehensive menu development since opening.

Positioned in the heart of Leeds city centre, close to Leeds Playhouse and First Direct Arena, Kerala Canteen has become known for offering a distinctive alternative to traditional Indian dining.

The Summer 2026 menu reflects the restaurant’s commitment to pairing authentic recipes from Kerala with ingredients sourced closer to home. Developed by a team with backgrounds spanning Michelin-starred restaurants, MasterChef UK and Great British Menu, the menu showcases both tradition and innovation.

Since its launch, Kerala Canteen has attracted significant attention from diners and industry observers alike.

Recognition has included listings among the UK’s Top 100 Indian Restaurants, features in regional dining publications, strong ratings across review platforms and praise for introducing a Kerala tapas concept previously unseen in the UK market.

Guests are encouraged to share multiple dishes inspired by Kerala’s street-food culture, family kitchens and traditional canteens.

New additions include a Chef’s Special T-Bone Steak, Half Roasted Chilli Garlic Chicken and a Beef Curry Pie that combines the restaurant’s signature beef curry with Yorkshire pudding and cheddar cheese.

The menu also retains customer favourites such as Trivandrum Fried Chicken, Crispy Curry Leaf Calamari, Gunpowder Potatoes, Paneer Pepper Fry and Slow Cooked Beef Biriyani.

A newly launched tasting menu, priced at £36.95 per person, provides a curated dining experience complete with prosecco.

Desserts showcase international influences through dishes such as Biscoff Gulab Jamun and Ice Cream, Dark Chocolate Delice with Matcha and Chai Spiced Soft Serve Ice Cream.

The menu has been developed by Chef Abdulla Khader Allingal Siddique and consultant chef Bobby Geetha, both of whom bring extensive culinary expertise and international experience.
