Matterello launches at Trafford Palazzo

The luxury Italian restaurant has opened at TraffordCity’s Trafford Palazzo

High-end Italian food and beverage provider, Matterello, has recently opened its doors to customers as part of a 15-year deal with landlord Peel L&P.

Located in a 2,454 sq ft unit within Trafford Palazzo (formerly Barton Square), the restaurant will focus on the cuisine of southern Italy, which includes squid, fettucine, and a variety of dessert options.

Mark Whittaker, Executive Director ‑ Property Investment & Management, said: “Matterello really is a top-quality leisure dining experience, and to finally see them open their doors at Trafford Palazzo is a delight. Our vision when acquiring the space in 2021 was to provide a high-quality F&B offering, in addition to the current best-in-class retail and leisure experiences that we currently provide.”

Steve Pilling, Owner of Matterello, said: “Matterello is a place inspired by southern Italy. We fully understand that Italian culture is centred around good food, a strong community and of course, delicious wines. And it’s that authentic Italian experience that we’re bringing to Trafford Palazzo.

“From our Putanesca to our Panozzos, all the food will be made and prepared on-site with fresh ingredients to ensure we’re delivering the highest-quality dishes we can. This will make Matterello the go-to place to wine and dine within TraffordCity, and ultimately put smiles on the faces of our customers.

“Since opening, we’ve had a brilliant response and received some exciting feedback from our customers which is pleasing. The activations on-site have also massively elevated our offering and we’re so pleased to be part of such a forward-thinking community.”

Matterello will also be offering unique experiences on top of its menu, such as pasta-making courses.

Trafford Palazzo’s growing range of shopping and leisure brands include Primark, LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre, SEA LIFE, Silentnight, Homesense, Natuzzi and Next Home King Pins, Nerf AX and Archies.
