Supply chain summit to help businesses build diversity

The Clear Company, a diversity and inclusion consultancy, will be holding a summit this November to help businesses take a holistic approach to supply chain diversity.

The event, which will take place in Manchester on the 24th of November, will see D&I and procurement professionals, supplier diversity leads and diverse suppliers gathering to hear from industry leading experts in keynote talks, as well as panel discussions and workshops. An inclusive procurement strategy widens the pool of potential suppliers and promotes competition in the supply base, which can improve product quality and drive down costs. And by providing more sourcing options, inclusiveness can make supply chains more resilient and agile — an increasingly important advantage in these uncertain times.

Pauline Miller, chief equity officer, EMEA at dentsu and Osita Madu, Senior EDI Manager, Supply Chain at HS2 will be leading keynote talks on creating and implementing an impactful supplier diversity programme. Businesses can hear how to create and implement a supplier diversity strategy, and the role of technology in supplier diversity.

The Clear Company has a wealth of experience in supply chain diversity, recently supporting rail and infrastructure giant HS2 to improve their diversity and inclusion and have awarded them the prestigious Clear Assured Platinum Award – the first business in the sector to do so.

Alex Maria, global managing consultant at The Clear Company said: “Recent challenges faced by businesses to manage risks in their supply chain, highlights the need to create a supplier diversity program as part of an overall D&I strategy. Beyond moral and ethical arguments, such programs can create economic opportunities and provide competitive advantages to an organisation.

“This event not only provides an engaging and insightful day about supplier diversity where businesses of all sizes can speak to industry experts, but also provides a unique opportunity and an amazing platform to network with D&I and procurement professionals from across the UK.”
