Chester BID Expands Street Team with New BID Maintenance Operative Service

Chester Business Improvement District (BID) is thrilled to announce the expansion of its street team with the launch of the highly anticipated BID Maintenance Operative Service.

This new service aims to meet the demands expressed by BID member businesses and further enhance the overall experience for visitors and tourists in the city.

The BID maintenance operatives will provide a responsive service tailored to the needs of BID members and will cover a wide range of tasks.

These include shop front and signage cleaning, alfresco area maintenance, and assisting businesses with their maintenance work.

Additionally, they will tackle neglected areas on private land, addressing grot spots across the city. With a commitment to excellence, the team will be active every morning, five days a week.

Services delivered by the BID Maintenance Operatives will be in addition to cleaning and maintenance undertaken by the council.

Chester BID’s Street Team includes its ever-popular City Host service, which has been providing invaluable information and support to both tourists and locals for many years.

The launch of the BID Maintenance Operative service aligns with Chester BID’s ongoing Summer Spruce Up initiative.

As part of the Summer Spruce Up, Chester BID has already made significant strides in transforming the cityscape. These include the repainting of 150 bollards across the city, the installation of 17 new benches along Eastgate Street and The Cross, captivating flower arrangements, and the renovation of bike racks.

Chester BID CEO Carl Critchlow expressed his delight about the launch of the service. He said “We are pleased to introduce our BID Maintenance Operative service and look forward to making a real difference to the visitor experience. Our businesses tell us that cleaning and maintenance are a priority for them so the service will complement the council’s cleaning and maintenance activity by focusing on privately owned land and property.  This expansion of our street team demonstrates our dedication to providing exceptional experiences for all who explore the charm and beauty of Chester.”

Part funding for cleaning equipment and Summer Spruce up activity was secured via the Cheshire West and Chester Crowd.
