Grappenhall Cricket Club looking to net support from local businesses

Grappenhall Cricket Club has launched a fundraising campaign to raise money for a new set of practice nets and is appealing to local businesses across Cheshire to help.

The club, based on Broad Lane, Grappenhall, is looking to raise money to replace the existing nets which are no longer fit for purpose and are in urgent need to be replaced.

Boasting of successful junior membership, the club – with a newly launched women’s team as well as four senior men’s teams – is looking to replace the nets in a bid to extend its practice facilities and further cement its position as Warrington’s leading cricket club.

Desperate need for new nets

Mike Tyerman, Grappenhall Cricket Club’s chairman said: “We are incredibly proud of our club and the successes we see across both our senior and junior teams, but we have reached a point where we desperately need new nets to support the training and practise facilities for all our players.

“We’re so lucky to have an amazing club with incredible grounds but we really need to invest now in our new nets but we need help to achieve our dream.”

The existing nets have been in place for almost 20 years and are no longer fit for purpose.
