Manhattan Active® Point of Sale Introduces Advanced Enhancements for Store Associates

Manhattan Associates Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH) has today unveiled significant updates to its Manhattan Active® Point of Sale (POS) application, specifically designed to cater to the modern store associate’s requirements. The revamped store application features integrated clienteling capabilities to boost sales and improve service, offers ultra-fast checkout, and can function offline without relying on an in-store server.

Addressing the complexities and opportunities presented by today’s digital native shopper, Manhattan remains committed to continuous innovation. The company works closely with its customers to ensure store associates are effectively equipped to realise the full potential of their stores. Part of the renowned Manhattan Active Omni suite, the updated store app seamlessly merges critical elements like Customer, Catalog, Cart, and Fulfillment, thereby enabling store associates to maximise both sales and service.

Incorporated into Manhattan’s cloud-native point of sale, the store app has been refined to elegantly handle the common instabilities of store network connectivity. With an emphasis on simplicity, the app proactively manages network stability, operating discreetly in the background to counteract everything from minor disruptions to complete connection losses. Furthermore, the app maintains crucial data in-memory on the device, ensuring ultra-fast scanning and checkout procedures, crucial for maximising in-store sales conversion.

Robby Dewling, director of Product Management at Manhattan Associates, spoke about the enhancements: “In today’s retail environment, where premium service and efficiency are paramount, a point of sale that excels in omnichannel selling and service, and adeptly navigates store network challenges, is increasingly vital. Manhattan Active Point of Sale’s comprehensive omnichannel customer view and sophisticated engagement tools empower associates to tailor interactions and forge unforgettable shopping experiences.”

Dewling also emphasised the company’s innovative ethos, stating, “These latest enhancements serve to underline our commitment to innovation and the people-first design process that underpins and differentiates our solutions and approach. Many of these functional and technical enhancements were designed in close collaboration with our Manhattan Active Point of Sale customer community, some of retail’s most forward-thinking omnichannel sellers,”

The Manhattan Active store app, compatible with Windows, iOS, and Android, allows full app extensibility, enabling retailers to customise the layout and user experience to align with their brand identity.
