Grosvenor Health and Social Care Acquires Esteem Care Holdings Ltd. in Strategic Move

In a landmark transaction, Grosvenor Health and Social Care has acquired Esteem Care Holdings Ltd., a leading UK home care provider. The multi-million-pound deal, finalised on August 1, 2024, marks a significant moment in the UK’s home care industry.

Esteem Care is renowned for its exceptional home care services, providing over 7,150 care hours weekly to 620 clients through a dedicated team of 250 care staff. With branches in Manchester, Leeds, Carlisle, Kendal, Dumfries, and Stranraer, Esteem Care has been at the forefront of personalised care, focusing on reducing loneliness, promoting good nutrition, and enhancing safety at home.

Dr. Sayani Sainudeen, Founding Partner and Investment Director of Y1 Capital Ltd., the parent company of Esteem Care, expressed optimism about the sale. “This acquisition ensures our clients will continue to receive top-tier, compassionate care while benefiting from Grosvenor’s expansive resources and expertise,” said Dr. Sainudeen. Tony Veverka, CEO of Esteem and Y1 Capital, shared his enthusiasm, stating, “Joining Grosvenor is a strategic step that promises growth and enhanced service delivery for our clients.”

The group was formed as a result of a buy-and-build strategy by Y1 Capital under Dr. Sainudeen’s leadership. The first acquisition was Guardian Response in Dumfries in 2015, followed by Cumbria View Care Services in Kendal in 2018. Able Care and Support Services and Vive UK Social Care joined in 2020. The group rebranded as Esteem in 2023 under the leadership of Tony Veverka.

Dr. Sainudeen commented, “I am very grateful to have a fantastic Head of Operations, Sarah Gee, who supports the management teams at the local office. All our Registered Managers are great assets to social care. However, the commendable work of the care workers in keeping our service users safe and looked after is the forefront of our operations. Over the years we have made great relationships with the social workers, contract monitoring officers, and Commissioners at the Local Authorities we work with.”

Lee Peach from Grosvenor Health and Social Care remarked, “Esteem Care’s dedication to personalised, high-quality care is a perfect fit for our vision. We are excited to integrate their exceptional service model and staff into our operations, ensuring continuity and expansion of the outstanding care Esteem is known for.”

Dr. Sainudeen and Tony Veverka will now focus more of their time on their healthcare operation Transform Healthcare, the UK’s largest provider of Cosmetic Surgery and Bariatric surgery.

Dr. Sainudeen urged the new Labour Government to invest more into social care given the state of the sector.

This acquisition is expected to improve the quality and reach of home care services across the UK, benefiting countless individuals and families who rely on Esteem Care’s exemplary services. For more information on Esteem Care Holdings Ltd., visit https://esteem.care/
