CHANCE CLEAN CIDER secures headline sponsorship at revived regional food festival

The UK’s first dedicated alcohol-free cider brand, CHANCE CLEAN CIDER, has confirmed its first headline festival sponsorship.

The company will support the Cheshire & North Wales Food and Drink Festival, which returns to Chester over Easter after local organisers stepped in to preserve the event following concerns about its future.

Founded by drinks specialist John Logue, whose background includes senior roles at Rekorderlig, CROSSIP and Lucky Saint, CHANCE produces a 0.5% ABV cider using British apples from Worcestershire. The sponsorship marks a significant step into the events sector for the growing brand.

The partnership reflects wider changes in the drinks market, where alcohol-free options are becoming more visible at major public gatherings.

John’s decision also reflects his personal connection to the city, having lived in Chester since arriving as a student in 1999.

He said: “This is a landmark moment for CHANCE. It’s the first festival we’ve sponsored, and it reflects both the growth of the brand and the growing demand for premium non-alcoholic options at major events. Consumers want choice, quality and inclusivity, and festivals are evolving to reflect that.”

The brand’s support for independent producers aligns with the festival’s long-standing emphasis on quality and local businesses.

The event is now managed by Steven Hesketh and Katie Isaacson, who secured its continuation earlier this year.

Steven said: “Having the UK’s first non-alcoholic cider brand as our Headline Sponsor reflects the direction the industry is moving in. The drinks landscape is changing rapidly, and we want this festival to reflect modern tastes while continuing to support independent producers.”

From 3 to 6 April, visitors can expect chef demonstrations, artisan stalls and family entertainment.

CHANCE will feature across the festival site, including bar fridges and a dedicated Beer & Cider zone, while John Logue will take part in panel sessions and talks.

The programme includes Matty Edgell on Saturday, Brin Pirathapan on Friday and appearances from Aiden Byrne, Neil Aitken, Lumberjaxe (Jaydon & Brendon), Paul Askew, Brian Mellor, Harry Elliott, Naomi Griffiths, James Ellams and Felix Shore, with an additional headline guest still to be confirmed.

Trader bookings and tickets are available now, with priority given to local and returning producers.
