Houseplant.co.uk has unveiled its latest findings on indoor plant trends across the UK, based on analysis of more than 350,000 deliveries and 5,750 customer reviews.
In London, the Areca Palm ranks as the top seller, followed closely by the Boston Fern. Manchester stands out for its preference for the Swiss Cheese Plant, while Bristol sees equal popularity for both the Boston Fern and Swiss Cheese Plant. Glasgow aligns with London in favouring the Areca Palm, whereas Edinburgh favours the Radiator Plant ‘Hope’, which thrives in low-light conditions.
Oxford has embraced the Wandering Dude Nanouk, a trailing plant popular online. Leeds customers are purchasing significant quantities of String of Turtles, while Liverpool has developed a strong demand for the Venus Fly Trap.
Rebecca Tapper, founder of Houseplant.co.uk, said: “The Areca Palm being on top isn’t a shock. It sells out constantly and has done for months. But Liverpool and carnivorous plants? That one we didn’t see coming. When you’ve got data from 350,000 deliveries, it throws up things you’d never guess.”
The company has experienced rapid year-on-year growth, doubling in size and continuing to expand. It attributes this success to listening closely to customers, having reviewed over 7,000 enquiries and implemented updates such as improved search tools and pot recommendations at checkout.
It has also created a plant care library comprising 1,000 articles, allowing users to search for advice using natural, conversational language rather than technical terms.
Houseplant.co.uk has delivered more than 350,000 houseplants across the UK and holds over 5,750 verified customer reviews. Further details are available on its website.
