Home Care Boss Pledges to Build Army of Caregivers for Local Community

An East Cheshire home care company boss declares that caring is a ‘job of the future’, urging people to come onboard as he pledges to build an army of caregivers to provide support in the local community.

Rajan Panesar, managing director of Home Instead East Cheshire, currently has over 30 vacancies, including evening hours, at his care company which has clients across Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Macclesfield, Congleton, Poynton and Addlington.

Rajan says that jobs in his sector are future proof, referring to the resilience of care work against a backdrop of sectors such as hospitality and travel that have been so badly impacted by the pandemic. With an ageing population, home care, on the other hand, has seen a huge increase in demand, so much so that there is a national shortage of caregivers.

The UK has an ageing population with over 14.28 million baby boomers who are coming into older age over the next few years. The millennial generation follows a close second at 14.22 million people. At the same time, we are living longer.

Commenting, Rajan said: “As part of the Home Instead team you are able to make a difference to someone’s quality of life every day, supporting them to remain living in their own home, independently.

“Our philosophy is that you work with us and there are a range of opportunities to progress within our home care business. Being a caregiver is a job for life with many opportunities to learn new skills and specialisms such as dementia awareness training.

“Our caregivers don’t just stop at providing care. They continue to develop their skills and career to go on to support their colleagues and the business to deliver the very best levels of care to our clients”.

It is estimated that the adults social care sector in England has approximately 105,000 unfilled vacancies at any one time.

Home Instead is a national company with 10,000 caregiver vacancies to fill in the coming two years. For more information on the 30 vacancies across East Cheshire, please call 01625 860992 or visit https://www.homeinstead.co.uk/east-cheshire/.
