Regional law firm Butcher & Barlow unveils new brand

Leading North West law firm Butcher & Barlow has completed an extensive rebrand which will be rolled out over the coming weeks.

The Legal 500 firm has undergone a complete brand refresh to better reflect its long-standing values and ethos, including introducing a new visual identity. The change reflects the Firm’s evolved service offering and represents its client-focused approach to providing exceptional legal services.

The rebrand comes as Butcher & Barlow continues to grow in number and reputation and adapts to meet existing and new clients’ shifting needs post-Covid. Turnover increased by over 8 per cent again in the last 12 months against a difficult economic background and a period of adapting to working from home.

Managing Partner Anthony Higham added: “The last 20 months have been a difficult period for everyone, but we have, because of our strengths, come through it well and in fact thrived.

“We have a well-developed departmental structure and collaborative way of working across the whole Firm and externally with our clients, which has been fundamental to our success. The pandemic accelerated the use of technology and the requirement to work together rather than in isolation.

“The new brand message of ‘Decisions Shared’ highlights and reinforces our strengths but is actually something we have always done. It is important to us that we work with our clients, not for them.”

Butcher & Barlow has 10 high street offices across the North West and 160 employees with private client, commercial and agricultural departments.

Jonathan Aldersley, Partner at Butcher & Barlow, said: “It is important that Butcher & Barlow retains its established core values and rich heritage, but at the same time the branding needed developing to reflect the growth of the Firm and how we interact with our clients.

“We felt it was important to have a strong and recognisable brand that better reflected who we are today and let people know what Butcher & Barlow stands for. We wanted people to know that we believe in building long-term relationships and being there for all of their legal needs, whether big or small, business or personal.”

To coincide with the rebrand, Butcher & Barlow has launched a new website, reflective of the new brand and visual identity. The website, which can be found at www.butcher-barlow.co.uk, is designed to make legal services understandable to clients and contains downloadable guides on the service areas the Firm specialises in.

Anthony Higham said “As we evolve our way of working with our clients to meet the change in society over the past 20 months, our visual identity had to mirror the shift. Throughout our history as a business, we have and will always continue to evolve to strategically support the needs of our clients and our people. The rebrand and launch of the new website represents our ambitions and reflects how the firm has evolved in recent years.”
