Beyond Law Group Appoints New Corporate Partner

Beyond Law Group’s specialist corporate and commercial practice, Beyond Corporate, has appointed Piers Dryden to its corporate team. The recruitment comes following the most successful year to date for Beyond Law Group and its specialist practices.

In the last 12 months, Beyond Law Group’s specialist corporate practice, Beyond Corporate, has more than doubled its headcount and has this month been shortlisted for Corporate Team of the Year at the Manchester Legal Awards. The team is considered the go-to corporate team for some high-profile national and international clients who prefer the more boutique approach to client service.

Piers brings more than 20 years’ experience to Beyond Corporate, having worked at firms including Slaughter & May, Debevoise & Plimpton and Ogier. Piers advises on a breadth of corporate matters, but specialises in the high growth technology sector, including blockchain and cryptocurrency.

Prior to joining Beyond Law Group, Piers was Partner and Head of the technology sector at Brabners. Piers’ primary role at Beyond Law Group will be to grow and develop a technology focus and continue to help further build the profile of Beyond Corporate, as well as supporting the strategy and vision of the wider Group.

Beyond Corporate is a specialist practice of Beyond Law Group, the disruptive legal business whose strategy is to create, build and manage specialist legal practices under one modern business structure. Beyond Law Group’s unique and innovative business structure brings corporate and consumer legal services together, whilst enabling its practices to provide a specialist boutique environment to its customer audience.

Beyond Law Group currently has a portfolio of three practices: McAlister Family Law, Beyond Corporate and Beyond Conveyancing.

Piers Dryden commented on his appointment:Piers Dryden commented on his appointment: “It’s a privilege to join the talented team at Beyond Corporate. The practice has such a strong record of growth, innovation and high-quality client service and I look forward to further supporting and developing the team in my new role.

“I see Beyond Law Group as a true disrupter in the market. I am thrilled to be part of a firm with such an innovative business structure and agile workforce that maintains a strong focus on high-quality service to clients. I believe that traditional law firm business structures increasingly struggle to adapt in this changing market; the structure of Beyond Law Group lends itself to this evolving market and addresses the challenges of legal service delivery in a novel and value-driven manner. I can’t wait to get started.”

Matt Fleetwood, the Group’s founder and Chief Executive comments: “Piers’ appointment is key for the Group as we continue to invest heavily in the recruitment of talented legal professionals to the firm, as well as significant investment in career development and progression for our people.

Piers’ vast experience in the high growth technology sector will further support our corporate team in what we believe is a relatively untapped offering in the North-West market. Importantly, Piers’ appointment further enhances the culture and personality of Beyond Law Group and emphasises our commitment to continue to recruit strong lawyers who want to work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.

Piers is the third partner to be appointed this year, which is indicative of the Group’s continuous growth and success as we approach our fifth anniversary.”
