‘Amazing’ donations to charity as Carols in the Courtyard returns to Chester

Co-hosted by Chester-based solicitors from Aaron & Partners, the annual event included a range of festive activities

Event success also sees £300 and several crates of food donated to local good causes

Chester-based law firm Aaron & Partners has hosted its annual event to celebrate the festive season, raising hundreds of pounds for charity in the process.

Held in collaboration with Bennett Brooks, Savills and Manley Solicitors, the well-attended Carols in the Courtyard event raised more than £300, with West Cheshire Foodbank collecting a van full of food donations and Trafford Hall receiving donations for its community centre.

Grosvenor Rowing Club also joined the event, serving mulled wine and mince pies in exchange for donations for ongoing renovations.

Attendees braved the frosty weather in Grosvenor Court and were treated to festive performances from over 100 members of The Chester Rock Choir and The City of Chester Brass Band, as well as a traditional hog roast, mince pies and mulled wine.

Helen Johnson at Aaron & Partners, said: “We were thrilled to see so many people joining our event and supporting such great causes.

“Carols in the Courtyard is becoming a mainstay of Chester’s festive season, and it’s also a fantastic opportunity for our colleagues to bring friends and family to meet outside of the offices and enjoy the start to the Christmas season.

“Christmas time is all about giving, and thanks to the kindness of our communities, there were some amazing donations to support those in need. We would like to thank everyone who attended, including our brilliant local musicians.”

Now an annual event in the city centre calendar, the first Carols in the Courtyard was held back in 2019.

Kelly Hammersley at West Cheshire Foodbank said: “Carols in the Courtyard always reminds us how generous and kind our local community is.

“The expectations from the Christmas season and increasing costs can create financial pressure on many families. At West Cheshire Foodbank, we try to ease the burden for them, supplying communities with essential groceries to help at this difficult time of year.

“We want to say thank you to Aaron & Partners, Bennett Brooks, Savills and Manley Solicitors for their long-term support and dedication.”
