Last week marked the joyous celebration of Manleys Solicitors as they commemorated their 10-year anniversary, albeit one year behind schedule!
Established by the esteemed media lawyer Mark Manley in 2012, Manleys Solicitors has established itself as a prominent boutique litigation firm in Chester, garnering nationwide recognition. After an extensive career, encompassing diverse litigation matters and a partnership with Brabners in Liverpool, Manley embraced the challenge of establishing his own firm.
On the 1st of May 2012, Manleys officially opened its doors at its former location on St John Street in Chester. The occasion was marked by a grand launch party held at the Hilton Double Tree, attended by esteemed clients such as renowned comedians Ricky Tomlinson, Stan Boardman, and former footballer turned Sky TV pundit Jamie Carragher.
Over the past decade and more, Manleys has experienced remarkable growth, accumulating a prestigious client base that reads like a Who’s Who list! The firm has gained widespread recognition in both national and local media, in addition to its presence in esteemed legal directories. Notably, they were shortlisted for the Lawyer Awards UK Boutique Law Firm of the Year. In 2017, having outgrown their previous premises, Manley secured substantial commercial property spanning three floors in the esteemed Grosvenor Court. Just before Christmas that year, the firm made a seamless transition to their new location.
The previous year proved to be another exceptional period for the firm, marked by a flurry of activities. Manleys represented clients in notable venues such as the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland, the High Court of England and Wales, and the United States District Court in New York. However, amidst the demands of the eventful year, the milestone of the 10-year anniversary passed by without the grand celebration it deserved. To remedy this, Rebekah Booth, the firm’s Chief Operations Officer, took the initiative to host a surprise 10+1 dinner, finally acknowledging the resounding success achieved over the previous 11 years.
Reflecting on the prosperous decade, Mark expressed his satisfaction, stating:
