CMD Recruitment’s 2025 Salary Guide Highlights Growth of Hybrid Work, with 85% of Companies on Board

Wiltshire recruitment firm CMD Recruitment has unveiled its latest Salary Guide, offering crucial insights into workplace trends, key skills in demand, and the benefits most valued by employees.

The 28-page report provides a comprehensive overview of various recruitment factors, including pre-boarding strategies, AI’s growing role in the workplace, and market predictions for 2025.

Among its key takeaways, the guide notes that while fully remote roles are declining, 85% of businesses are actively supporting hybrid working arrangements. It also finds that 77% of Gen Z employees prioritise work-life balance, making flexible working conditions increasingly essential.

Tim Barfoot, CEO of CMD Recruitment, commented:

“The 2024 recruitment market has seen significant shifts and challenges, primarily driven by the change in government and the subsequent introduction of a new budget.

“By combining our expert local knowledge with a comprehensive analysis of the wider UK labour market, our report offers valuable insights to help employers navigate the complexities of the recruitment landscape.”

Further findings indicate that 77% of job seekers research a company’s reputation before applying, while 75% explore its workplace culture. The report also highlights the importance of retention strategies, with 72% of employees stating they are more inclined to stay with businesses offering attractive benefits.

The guide concludes with key predictions for 2025, pointing to the influence of advancing technology, evolving work models, and employee-driven changes in the job market.

Tim Barfoot added:

“Flexibility in work schedules and locations will continue to dominate and employee well-being will be a growing priority as work-life balance becomes increasingly central to job satisfaction.

“We also anticipate that AI and automation are expected to take over more tasks currently performed by humans, but this will equate to a transformation of roles rather than job losses.”
