Atkinsons Bullion & Coins Opens First Scottish Office Following Record £330m Turnover

EDINBURGH, UK. October 5th, 2026 – Atkinsons Bullion & Coins is strengthening its presence across the UK with the opening of a new appointment-only office on George Street in Edinburgh. The move represents the company’s first dedicated Scottish location and forms part of its plans to make its services more accessible to customers outside its existing base.

The Edinburgh office will serve customers throughout Scotland and the North of England, offering face-to-face access to Atkinsons’ services. Visitors will be able to collect orders, bring in precious metals for sale, discuss secure storage and meet directly with members of the Atkinsons team.

Founded in 1990 by Paul and Keeley Atkinson, Atkinsons began life as a single retail jewellery business before developing into a major UK online retailer specialising in physical gold and silver coins and bullion. The company reported turnover of more than £330 million for the 2025/26 financial year.

The launch in Edinburgh forms part of a broader strategy to establish satellite locations around the UK. The aim is to complement Atkinsons’ online services with more opportunities for customers to access the business and its expertise in person.

For co-founder Paul Atkinson, the opening also represents a return to his roots. Born and raised in Scotland, he sees the new location as a particularly significant milestone for the business he established with his wife.

Paul Atkinson, co-founder of Atkinsons Bullion & Coins, said: “To bring our services to the country of my birth through a business my wife and I created is one of my proudest moments in business.

“We have always wanted to share the knowledge and experience we have built over more than 35 years and give customers the opportunity to speak to us directly about physical precious metals. Opening in Edinburgh allows us to provide that personal service to more customers across Scotland and the North of England.”

The new office is situated on George Street in Edinburgh’s New Town. Its central location was chosen to provide convenient access for customers, with Edinburgh Waverley Station approximately a 10-minute walk away and tram connections available nearby at St Andrew Square and Princes Street.

As part of the launch, Paul and Keeley Atkinson will host a series of Meet and Greet appointments at the Edinburgh office from 19 to 23 October. Customers will have the opportunity to discuss buying or selling physical precious metals, arrange order collections and learn more about Atkinsons’ secure storage services.

Atkinsons specialises in physical gold and silver products, including UK coins that may qualify for Capital Gains Tax exemption for UK residents.
