Centre of Excellence Trebles Turnover to £12million as it Celebrates Ten Years in Business

Leading global eLearning business Centre of Excellence has reported record annual results as it marks its tenth year in business.

Turnover at the Cheshire-headquartered business increased by 200% to £12m for the 2021/2022 financial-year, up from almost £4m the previous year.  The success sees the company post a pre-tax profit of just under £4m for the year ending January 2022.

The results follow a period of exponential growth for the e-commerce business, with a 40% increase in customers recorded worldwide.  The growth is attributed to the Centre of Excellence’s expanding portfolio of products and enhanced user offer, with over £1m invested in the design and development of a new website and UX platform; further accelerated by the pandemic, which saw a significant increase in the number of people searching for online courses.

Speaking on the results, founder and CEO of Centre of Excellence, Sara Jones, said: “2021 was an exceptional year for the business, exceeding all our expectations in terms of sales and growth.

“As a business we are consistently looking to innovate, whether that be in the breadth of the courses we offer, the way in which our courses are delivered, or the way in which we engage with our audience worldwide.  The pandemic and subsequent significant rise in demand for eLearning, has only further highlighted the importance of this.

“Over the last year we’ve invested significantly in the business, developing our user offer and launching our new app, making affordable, transformative learning more accessible than ever before.  The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.  We’re looking forward to helping more people discover the benefits of eLearning, whether that be to advance their education or career, support the launch of a new business, aid a child’s development, reward or incentivise a workforce, or pursue a personal interest, with a rapidly growing portfolio of courses.”

Centre of Excellence has gone from strength-to-strength over the last ten years with Jones growing the business she started from her living room with just one online course to a leading global operation, providing over one thousand courses to one million customers in 150 countries.

Earlier this year the business launched a new app placing affordable and transformative learning in the palm of the hand.  It is just one of a series of recent developments from the eLearning company with Centre of Excellence having also released a range of new courses for children, expanded its portfolio of language courses and unveiled a new and bespoke website, attracting over two million visits per month.

Amongst the extensive range of products available are courses in holistic health and wellness, business, animal care, languages, mental health, hobbies & crafts, and child education.

The business has ambitious plans for continued expansion and this year will launch over one hundred new courses to meet the needs of its rapidly growing audience.  It will also launch a new merchandise range.
