Manchester Restaurant to host an emergency stem cell donor drive to help save the life of a Manchester child

Four-year-old Dillan has battled Leukaemia for the last two years, 24 hours after being told he could finish his treatment early his parents were given the heart-breaking news that the cancer had spread to his spine. He now urgently needs a bone marrow transplant and as no match has been found on the existing UK stem cell donor database, Dillan’s Mum Amy has launched a campaign to encourage as many people as possible to join the DKMS register. The campaign has already seen celebrity support with Michelle Keegan, Mark Wright, John Stones, Nadine Merabi, Brooke Vincent, Cath Tyldesley all sharing videos and encouraging people to sign up.

Signing up is easy and can be done by requesting a home swab pack online, or at Manchester restaurant Menagerie on Wednesday 31st August from 9am-3pm where they will be hosting an event with DKMS. Trained staff will carry out the painless cheek swab and process the samples, if you are a match you will hear from the charity in the weeks to follow with the next steps.

DKMS cover all costs incurred by donors.

More information can be found here.

DONOR SAMPLE EVENT WEDNESDAY 31ST AUGUST – 9.30AM – 3PM MENAGERIE RESTAURANT, ONE NEW BAILEY, SALFORD M3 5JL
