Lotus Bakeries Ltd acquires new space 51 Water Lane, Wilmslow

Colliers’ North West National Offices team has gained 4,449 sq ft of high-quality modern office space at the newly refurbished 51 Water Lane, Wilmslow, on behalf of Lotus Bakeries UK Ltd on a 10-year lease with a five-year break.

Lotus Bakeries, the Belgian biscuit company, founded in 1932, with its headquarters in Lembeke, Belgium, will be relocating its UK Head Office from its current premises at Regus, Aviator Way, Wythenshawe, Manchester, to help support its business growth plans across the UK.

51 Water Lane is a detached purpose-built office building occupying a highly prominent position in the heart of Wilmslow town centre next to the Aston Martin dealership, which is a particular draw for the town, and is within 100 metres of the primary retail area along Grove Street.

Conor Walmsley, senior surveyor in the National Offices team at Colliers commented: “In advising our client on their relocation, Colliers wanted to ensure that the office space acquired would provide the business with a stimulating working environment. With the high quality newly refurbished office space being in the heart of Wilmslow town centre, which provides access to a wide array of amenities on the doorstep, we believe that Lotus Bakeries will see considerable benefit moving forwards.”

Mark Staniforth, UK & Ireland country manager at Lotus Bakeries Ltd said: “Colliers has been instrumental in helping to find the right office space in the right location. Not an easy task given that we had a strict area that we were looking in but throughout the process Conor has been excellent not only in the search but also with his time and invaluable advice throughout the process.  He has made the difference in making this search as painless as possible! We now have a superb fully furbished office space in the heart of Wilmslow and the team and I at Lotus Bakeries UK are already seeing the benefit. I would strongly recommend using Colliers again.”

James Dickinson, director, Canning O’Neil, who acted on behalf of the landlord, Osmium Estates Ltd added: “We were always confident that the buildings prominent position on Wilmslow’s most prestigious road would attract a quality tenant such as Lotus Bakeries. It’s been great working with Colliers and their clients, and I am sure it will make a great new home for them.”
