Nexer Digital Continues Growth in Charity Sphere With Appointment of New Account Director

Leading user experience and digital accessibility agency, Macclesfield based Nexer Digital is celebrating its ongoing growth with the appointment of a new account director to kick off 2023.

Jo Dunning joins Nexer Digital to support the company with its ambitious plans to increase the work it does in the charity sector, building on long term relationships with leading charity clients like Mind and Citizens Advice.

Jo’s career in charity communications spans more than a decade, and she has a wealth of experience in delivering via digital platforms. Her experience includes working for the LGBT Foundation producing health and mobilisation campaigns and working across website, press and print content. More recently, Jo worked at Reason Digital with some of the best known charities in the UK, helping them to deliver their digital services.

Nexer Digital is a leading specialist in human-centred design and development with an inclusive approach to improving the usability and accessibility of digital products and services. It plans to widen its work to include more health, social care and research charities as well as other not-for-profit areas like the arts, housing, and culture and heritage.

Discussing her appointment, Jo said: “Nexer Digital was the perfect move for me. I was looking for a new challenge, but still wanted to work in the pro social/tech for good space where the majority of my experience lies.

“Working with Nexer Digital will give me the opportunity to collaborate with clients in the public sector as well as charities. I’m excited to explore how we can work together to make more accessible and inclusive products and services for all.”

Commenting on Jo’s appointment, Hilary Stephenson, managing director at Nexer Digital, said: “Jo has many years’ experience of helping clients in the charity and funding sector, and cares about the impact and social purpose of her work. She’s perfectly placed to make this move and help us focus on the health, care and non-profit sectors in the UK.”

“Our growth in recent years means we need more capacity to invest in relationship management, so our customers feel supported in their digital strategy and transformation aims. We also want to build on our health, care and health research sector work, where we have a solid portfolio of usability, user research, and inclusive service design case studies.”

Nexer Digital is increasingly turning its attention to non-profit companies who often work with people disproportionately affected by the cost-of-living crisis. Its work often involves underrepresented groups in the process of creating digital products and services that are accessible and sustainable.

Nexer Digital is also hoping to start new conversations and build long-term relationships with charities to find ways to support their life-changing work amid a challenging landscape for fundraising.

The company works with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, LEEDS 2023 and Diversity Role Models. Nexer also supports NeuroResponse, an organisation improving the quality of life for people with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) by redesigning care and treatment pathways, with involvement in the service design and accessibility assessment of their planned products which are expected to be piloted this year.
