Beyond Meat® Introduces Tasty and Convenient Chicken-Style Options to the UK Market

Beyond Meat, a leading plant-based meat company, is expanding its product range in the UK with the launch of three new chicken-style products, including Beyond Burger Chicken-Style, Beyond Fillet, and Beyond Nuggets. The products are made from plant-based ingredients and are designed to look, cook and taste like their animal equivalents. They are crispy on the outside thanks to the golden breading and incredibly tender and juicy on the inside. The new products are suitable for carnivores, flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans alike, and provide tastebud teasing and protein-packed perfection for any hot meal occasion.

The Beyond Burger Chicken-Style is already available in select Waitrose stores, and all three products will be available in select Sainsbury’s branches from early May. The launch comes just in time for the UK’s Coronation celebration, with a plant-based version of one of the nation’s most-loved and versatile street party foods – Coronation Chicken.

Sales of plant-based meat across Europe are growing by 21% from 2020 to 2022, according to the latest study by GFI, as consumers are swapping animal meat in favour of their plant-based counterparts. Beyond Meat is responding to this increased demand by introducing new products on the market.

Steve Dalby, Regional Sales Manager UK at Beyond Meat, said, “In our quest to make plant-based meat more accessible, we’re constantly adapting and refining our portfolio to meet different European taste preferences. After launching beef- and pork-style products in the UK over the past years, we’re delighted to be introducing Brits to our tasty new Chicken-Style range. Innovation is at the heart of Beyond Meat, and our delicious new plant-based burger, fillet and nuggets will allow people to continue eating what they love, no sacrifice required.”

The new Beyond Chicken-Style range includes the Beyond Burger Chicken-Style, Beyond Fillet, and Beyond Nuggets. The Beyond Burger Chicken-Style is a plant-based burger that packs a punch with 15 grams of protein per 100g, while the Beyond Fillet is a crunchy and juicy option that is quick-to-prepare and suitable as a main course. The golden Beyond Nuggets are tasty, convenient and easy to make, making them a winning combination for family and friends to enjoy.

The new Beyond Chicken-Style products complement the existing Beyond Meat portfolio in the UK, which already includes Beyond Burger, Beyond Sausage, Beyond Mince, and Beyond Meatballs, and builds upon Beyond Meat’s award-winning chicken-style portfolio in the US.

The protein in the new Beyond Chicken-Style products comes in part from wheat gluten and the fava bean, a nutrient-packed legume crop that is the optimal ingredient for replicating the taste and texture of traditional chicken. Beyond Meat’s research, innovation and culinary teams are focused on creating plant-based meat that delivers in taste.

In conclusion, Beyond Meat is expanding its UK portfolio with the new Beyond Burger Chicken-Style, Beyond Fillet, and Beyond Nuggets. The company’s aim is to make plant-based meat more accessible to consumers and to provide delicious, protein-packed alternatives to animal meat. The new products are already available in select stores and will be rolling out across the UK in the coming weeks.
