Liverpool: Salah back in training as Klopp receives triple boost ahead of Brentford clash

Mohamed Salah trained with the rest of the Liverpool squad today as he stepped up his rehabilitation from a hamstring problem.

Salah sustained the injury while with Egypt at the African Cup of Nations and returned to Merseyside to work with the club’s medical staff.

The intention was to get him fit to fly back out to the Ivory Coast if Egypt reached the final but the Pharaohs suffered a disappointing last-16 exit at the hands of DR Congo.

He was pictured today joining in with his Liverpool team-mates and could be in contention for Saturday’s trip to Brentford.

A Premier League clash with Luton follows before the EFL Cup final against Chelsea on February 25.

Saturday’s 3-1 win over Burnley saw Jurgen Klopp’s men retain their two-point advantage over Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the table, although European champions City do have a game in hand.

Defender Joe Gomez and goalkeeper Alisson were also pictured training after missing the Burnley game due to illness.
