Walker Sime Debuts Dedicated Regen Delivery Service Under Cathy Palmer’s Leadership

Walker Sime, the esteemed construction consultancy with a diverse range of disciplines, has unveiled its dedicated Regen Delivery service, a strategic response to the escalating demand for regeneration projects spurred by various government funding initiatives such as Levelling Up, Town Deal, Future High Street, and Sustainable Transport Settlement Funds.

Targeted at aiding Local Authorities and Private Developers in propelling regeneration projects to revitalise UK towns, cities, and neighbourhoods, this new endeavour will be directed by the experienced Cathy Palmer, who assumes the role of Director of Regeneration Delivery.

Cathy, with her extensive background in community-impacting regeneration projects, most notably her leadership role in Birkenhead’s significant transformation initiative at Wirral Council, is a staunch advocate for community-centred regeneration. Her expertise, combined with Walker Sime’s involvement in significant projects like Rochdale Town Centre, Liverpool Waters, Eureka!, Wirral Waterfront, and Stockport 8, infuses the service with a rich reserve of specialised regen knowledge and a commendable history of successful project execution.

In her capacity, Cathy will steer the service towards the creation of significant mixed-use developments, aimed at invigorating areas and making them vibrant hubs for living, working, and leisure.

The service’s offering is comprehensive, encompassing project kick-off, investment planning, strategy development for delivery, business case crafting, advice on grant funding, governance, support for bids, procurement strategy, project planning, and risk management. This extensive service range firmly establishes Walker Sime’s Regen Delivery as a key contributor to the industry.

With the support of Walker Sime’s adept teams in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Cost Management, Employers Agent, and Bills of Quantities, the Regen Delivery service is well-equipped to offer extensive assistance to clients navigating the complexities of regeneration initiatives.

Cathy expressed her excitement about her new position: “I am excited to lead the Regeneration Delivery service at Walker Sime and look forward to collaborating with Local Authorities and Private Developers to bring about transformative change in communities.

We are already seeing significant interest from a number of authorities, and I am confident that our expertise and comprehensive approach will help drive successful regeneration initiatives in our communities.”
