Merseyside business presented King’s Award for Enterprise 2024

Historic business John Mason International Movers has been presented with the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise 2024 in Liverpool.

Specialising in international trade, the business was recognised for its outstanding contribution to customer service and operational excellence.

The event on Liverpool’s waterfront at the historic Royal Liver building included a ceremony and reading of the ‘Grant of Appointment’ by the deputy lieutenant. The king’s personal representative, lord-lieutenant Blundell, handed the award to executive director Simon Hood.

The King’s Award for Enterprise is the highest accolade a UK business can receive, celebrating an organisation’s continual innovation and success across various sectors.

In personal letters, both HRH the Princess Royale and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh extended their congratulations to Simon Hood and all team members at John Mason.

Simon said: “Receiving the King’s Award for Enterprise is a testament to the dedication of our entire team, who put customer care at the heart of everything we do. This award isn’t just for the company, but for every individual who has helped make John Mason International the trusted name it is today.”

Operating since 1884, John Mason International has grown from humble beginnings as a family coal delivery business in Merseyside to the UK’s leading international moving company.

Providing over 10,000 people each year with relocations across the globe, unlike many across the sector, John Mason has over a century of expertise to make this process simple and seamless.

In recent years, the John Mason International family had to overcome a number of challenges from post-Brexit customs regulations to the intimate pressures of homeworking during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their expertise and innovation post-pandemic rewarded them with a record year in 2022, cementing the business as the largest and fastest growing removals company in the UK, a feat in which the King’s award helps to recognise.
