Burj Khalifa Showcases Stunning RGBW Lighting Innovation

  • Advanced façade lighting unveiled ahead of 15th anniversary
  • Launch set for UAE’s Eid Al Etihad festivities

Emaar Properties has completed an extraordinary lighting transformation for the Burj Khalifa. Incorporating state-of-the-art RGBW technology, the upgrade combines advanced engineering with the tower’s iconic architecture. The new system will make its debut on 1 December 2024 during the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations, leading up to the building’s 15th anniversary on 4 January 2025.

This upgrade enhances the tower’s exterior with vibrant colours and dynamic lighting effects, creating a visually captivating experience for visitors and reaffirming Dubai’s reputation as a hub for innovation and creative design.

Following six months of mock-up testing, the RGBW system replaces static lights with addressable fixtures capable of creating intricate patterns and scenes. These displays adapt seamlessly to both festive events and everyday illuminations while integrating harmoniously with the Burj Khalifa’s media façade.

Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director of Emaar Properties, remarked: “Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. This lighting overhaul is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition.”

The project establishes a new standard in architectural lighting by merging technology with artistry, inspiring similar innovations worldwide.
