From viral stars to real-world impact: the UK’s biggest cat community heads to Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, UK. September 7th, 2026 – Some of the UK’s most recognisable cat social media stars will be heading to Birmingham this weekend as thousands of cat lovers, creators, experts, breeders, brands and rescue organisations come together at the NEC for the country’s largest physical celebration of the cat community.

Cats have become an undeniable force online. On Saturday 12 September, that huge digital following will move offline as The Cat Show Live brings the people and organisations behind the UK’s cat community together under one roof.

Travis & Sigrid, Ragdoll Atticus, Bongo & Fifi, Harvey the Tux, Pearl & Louie, Pluto & Poppy, Teddy, George, Rio & Rupert, Milo & Maple, Ginger Cat Love, Bianca British Shorthair, Tabbygirlroo and Lady Lola & Her Boys will all be represented at The Cat Show Live 2026.

Collectively, these creators have built audiences of millions, with videos and other content featuring their cats attracting tens of millions of views from people around the world.

Yet the event is about more than entertaining content and internet fame. Behind the viral videos and online communities is a wider movement focused on improving the lives of cats and supporting the people and organisations working to help them.

The Cat Show Live 2026 will welcome more than 6,000 cat lovers, as well as creators, breeders, veterinary and behaviour experts, brands and rescue organisations. The common goal is to celebrate cats while putting greater attention on their welfare and the organisations supporting them.

For cats waiting for homes, that attention can make a significant difference.

More than 150,000 cats in need of homes enter UK shelters every year, while hundreds of thousands more are estimated to be living without owners across the country.

Rescue and welfare are therefore central to The Cat Show Live, alongside its celebration of everything feline.

The event’s dedicated Hope Alley will give rescue organisations the chance to meet thousands of potential supporters in person. Beyond the event itself, the #Rescue100 crowdfunder campaign and free national Rescue Directory are designed to increase the visibility of cats needing homes and the organisations caring for them throughout the year.

For cats in need, awareness is only the first step. They also need people to see them, share their stories and ultimately help them find the support or homes they need.

The Cat Show Live believes the enormous reach of today’s cat-loving online community, combined with the opportunity to bring that community together in person, can help turn attention into meaningful action.

Samantha Marsh, Co-Founder of The Cat Show Live, said: “We are so proud of what we’ve built at The Cat Show Live, bringing together every incredible aspect of the cat community, including our fantastic ambassadors and meowfluencers. Millions of people follow these cats, share their stories and genuinely feel part of their lives.

“There is so much love for cats in this country. We want to harness some of that energy and create greater understanding, better ownership and more visibility for the cats and organisations that need it most.”

The Cat Show Live takes place at the NEC Birmingham on Saturday 12 September 2026, bringing together more than 6,000 visitors, hundreds of cats and representatives from across the UK cat community.

Tickets are limited and advance purchase is recommended via the The Cat Show Live website.
