NEW NEUROLOGY AND SURGERY SPECIALISTS AT CHESHIRE VETS

A Cheshire veterinary hospital is celebrating the achievements of two of its clinicians who have passed their specialist exams.

Neringa Alisauskaite has qualified as an ECVN neurology specialist and Georgia Jenkins as an ECVS small animal surgery specialist at Linnaeus-owned Northwest Veterinary Specialists (NWVS), in Runcorn.

The practice’s clinical director, Prue Neath, said the duo’s achievement was a fine reward for their dedication and kindness towards their patients and their owners.

Neringa said she knew from a very early age that she wanted to forge a career working with animals and it was her childhood years that proved the inspiration for her career.

She said: “I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. In my childhood I had numerous animals, hamsters, parrots and a dog, and while I was visiting my grandparents’ house in the countryside, I was constantly sneaking out to visit the horses of their neighbours or horses on the local farms.

“That’s why I decided that veterinary medicine was the only profession closely related to the care of pets and animals.

“For me, the most important thing remains to strive to deliver excellent care for our patients so I am always looking to further improve my surgical skills, become more active in publishing clinical studies in scientific journals and to becoming one of the best in the neurology-related field of diagnostic imaging.”

Speaking about her qualification, Georgia added: “I’m delighted to be recognised as a specialist after many years’ hard work to get to this point. It is an achievement I am very proud of and I look forward to using the skills I have learned to provide even better care for our patients.”

Prue Neath, clinical director at NWVS, said: “We’re delighted that Neringa and Georgia have qualified as specialists after having worked so hard. They are truly dedicated vets who are committed to providing excellent clinical care and offer great kindness to patients and their owners.”

Northwest Veterinary Specialists provides specialist referral services to veterinary practices in North West England and North and Mid-Wales.
