Salford based charity Foundation 92 renews wellbeing partnership with Bupa Foundation for a further 12 months

The Class of 92 backed charity, Foundation 92, have renewed their partnership with health care service provider Bupa Foundation on the back of a hugely successful initial campaign in 2021.

The partnership, which will see an estimated 90 families supported by Bupa is set to continue supporting indoor learning, building family relationships and outdoor physical activity with sessions taking place across weekday evenings.

The partnership renewal which is continuing to be rolled out exclusively to Foundation 92 comes on the back of a recent study which showed 55.1% of young people didn’t engage in 60 minutes of physical activity a day, in 2020, due to the impact of COVID-19.

Head of Foundation 92, Tom Hutton, said: “Due to the fantastic impact of the first 12 months of the Foundation 92 and Bupa Foundation partnership, we are extremely pleased to be able to come together again for a further 12 months, supporting local families across Greater Manchester.

“The range of activities and support from the partnership has been tremendous and we are delighted to be able to provide further support through the scheme.”

In the last year Foundation 92 and Bupa Foundation delivered over 4,000 bespoke essential packs which consisted of Educational Workbooks, family fun activities, food items, toiletries and mental wellbeing support to local families in need, as well as over 2,500 Bupa family activity packs, door to door in the local community.

The scheme also created a purpose-built family engagement group on Facebook with regular tips and updates on wellbeing which is currently accessed by over 180 families with this set to grow over the next 12-month period.

Through the support of Bupa Foundation, Foundation 92 has been able to provide support packs as well as online fitness videos which have garnered almost 6,000 views with incredible feedback from all participants.

To date, 3,200 hours of physical activity have been delivered from the Foundation 92 team, totalling 42 individual family members directly benefiting from workshops related to this partnership. Each family has engaged in a minimum of 4 hours per week contact time, over a 6-week intervention, equalling over 480 direct contact hours across the project.

Foundation 92 focuses on supporting people to improve their lives through sport, with an emphasis on positive physical and mental wellbeing.
