A Floral Flair to Holly Johnson Antiques’ Window Display

To celebrate the arrival of the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park, internationally acclaimed antiques, arts and interiors business Holly Johnson Antiques infused its window display with a floral flair.

Giving visitors passing through the town a warm and colourful welcome on their way to the flower show, the theme of this year’s RHS Best Dressed Window competition was ‘planet friendly’. As well as blooming flowers and foliage, the window display at Holly Johnson Antiques featured a set of floral Piero Fornasetti plates from 1960, aptly named ‘Fiori’, and a Victorian steel reclining garden chair accessorised with Designers Guild blankets, pillow and washbag all adorned with beautiful, botanical designs.

High-end antiques are planet friendly by nature as not only are they second hand but many pieces, especially those created by highly skilled craftsmen such as Edward Barnsley, Gordon Russell and John Makepeace, are incredibly well made and built to last using strong, hardwearing materials including oak and mahogany.

Further showcasing its environmental awareness, Holly Johnson Antiques will soon become a stockist of eco-friendly brand Porta Romana; which designs and handmakes bespoke luxury lighting, furniture and mirrors. Environmental impact is high on the business’ agenda, as it makes moves to become a more sustainable company – including making 80% of its range no more than 45 miles from its Farnham head office.

Commenting on the window display, Holly Johnson said: “Each and every year, we look forward to getting creative with our window display in honour of the eagerly anticipated RHS Flower Show, which attracts visitors to our town from all over the country.

“Knutsford in bloom is a sight to behold, and it is a wonderful opportunity to showcase what we have to offer.”

Founder Holly, trained at Christies, went onto develop her career at Bonhams (then Phillips) and subsequently worked with David Dickinson showing 19th Century Exhibition Furniture at the major London Fairs.
