Equity Release Supermarket Claim Two Prestigious Accolades at the Annual 2022 Consumer Awards

The UK’s No.1 independent equity release advisory service, Equity Release Supermarket (ERS), were today declared the winners of the ‘Best Mortgage Comparison Site’ and ‘Best Overall Equity Release Advisory Firm’ at the What Mortgage 2022 Awards, voted for by consumers.

Mark Gregory, Founder & CEO at Equity Release Supermarket commented: “These achievements are particularly special to us, given that they are voted for by finance readers and the consumer market.

“We’re delighted to have been recognised as leading the way in our field, with our ground-breaking technology that will transform the equity release landscape, after a lot of dedication and hard work.

“Given that we only launched the UK’s first ever equity release search engine – smartER – in September of last year, we’re thrilled to come away with the ‘Best Mortgage Comparison Site’ award.

“Since launching the platform, the acceleration and uptake has been overwhelming. It took over three years to come to fruition, but we have developed the technology and built a digital platform that gives consumers not only more control of their equity release journey, but more in-depth information, a better understanding of the plans that exist and greater insight to suit their requirements.

“Today’s market offers older homeowners an unprecedented choice of products that provide secure, flexible finance. We’ve now made this completely transparent, enabling consumers to interact and compare the market, putting them in the driving seat and helping them to achieve their financial goals.”

The firm added that smartER already accounts for 16% of Equity Release Supermarket’s applications and those who use smartER are six times more likely to complete on a product in comparison to a typical equity release calculator – perhaps due to the clear choices, simplicity and ease of use the platform’s functionality provides.

The news comes after the firm’s latest recruitment drive which saw them increase their adviser network to almost 60 strong, as well as appointing a new CMO and National Account Manager, in a bid to further strengthen their presence within the industry, support their growing customer demands and propel their pioneering technology and digital offering.

Mark added: “To also claim the ‘Best Overall Equity Release Advisory Firm’ serves as further recognition to the commitment, loyalty and determination shown by everyone at Equity Release Supermarket in delivering the very best service, products and choice we can to our clients.”

“We continue to push the boundaries when it comes to digital technology, with the aim to improve and enhance the digital offering available to consumers, not just for ERS customers, but to support the equity release market as a whole.”
