KNUTSFORD-BASED THE TOY APPEAL RECEIVES DONATION FROM BELLWAY

The Toy Appeal in Knutsford has received a £250 donation from housebuilder Bellway.

Located close to Bellway’s Park Gate Village development on Parkgate Lane in Knutsford, The Toy Appeal is dedicated to making Christmas special for children living in poverty delivering sacks of new toys to children from birth to the age of 17 to ensure they don’t miss out on the magic of Christmas morning.

Thousands of children receive a red sack every year and, on average, each child receives approximately eight gifts including a main present appropriate to their age, a stocking filler, board game or puzzle, books, arts and crafts supplies, a teddy and a ball or sports item.

It was important to Bellway to contribute to The Toy Appeal to help ensure deserving children across Cheshire and the North West do not miss out on a visit from Father Christmas.

Sales director at Bellway, Grace Yarlett, commented: “We are committed to supporting the local communities around our developments and when we heard about the work of The Toy Appeal we wanted to make a contribution.  More people are facing increased financial pressures this year and we hope our small contribution will go some way to helping bring a little extra sparkle to needy families.”

Dee and Chris Drake operate The Toy Appeal.  Dee said: “It would not be possible to do what we do without the support that we receive from local businesses and members of the general public and we hugely appreciate this kind gesture from Bellway.  We believe that every child deserves to experience the magic of Christmas morning and this donation will go towards the purchase of new toys to suit the families that we support.”

Park Gate Village is a beautiful development of new homes located on the edge of Tatton Park and within walking distance of Knutsford town centre.  There are currently a number of two, three and four bedroom homes available for sale with prices starting from £319,995 and with two stunning show homes to view, a visit to the development is a must. Open seven days a week, for further information, please call 01565 859 078 or visit www.bellway.co.uk.

Social workers, schools, women’s refuges, food banks and drop-in centres can refer a child or family to The Toy Appeal who will ensure that they have a sack of toys to open on Christmas morning.  For more information, please visit www.thetoyappeal.com
