Cheshire Retirement Village Introduces New Partnership With Online Platform

Richmond Villages Nantwich has just launched its partnership with the Joy Club to try and provide new opportunities for its residents.

The Joy Club is an online community for the older generation, where members can learn from experts, keep their minds and bodies active, and connect with people who share similar interests.

The platform hosts a variety of live online talks, classes, and activities every month, including creative workshops, live concerts, and art classes. Residents can also enjoy a library of recorded classes and events, so members can watch their favourite events at their own leisure.

The Joy Club also features a daily blog that features a range of interviews, features, and stories, most of which are written by club members.

According to Age UK1, more than two million people in England over the age of 75 live alone, and more than a million older people say they go over a month without speaking to family members, friends, or neighbours.

Richmond Villages endeavours to combat loneliness within its villages and ensure they offer residents ample opportunities to be more social and gain that vital human interaction.

Jane Ann Stubbs, Activities Manager at, Richmond Villages Nantwich, said “We are always looking for new activities and opportunities for our residents, so the 12-month free Joy Club membership is something we know will be popular within the village.

“We are really looking forward to taking part in the vast range of activities, classes, and workshops with our residents… especially the belly dancing class!”

Richmond Villages is a brand of premium retirement developments that offer independent living apartments, assisted living apartments, and a care home, providing tailored care to individual needs. Staff work hard to ensure their residents lead active, fulfilling lives, providing a packed schedule of events, full access to their wellness spa, and regular social clubs.
