Perpetuus Expands in India Through Joint Venture with Asiatic Rubber to Scale Graphene Rubber Masterbatch

Perpetuus Advanced Materials has signed a joint venture with Asiatic Rubber Pvt. Ltd., marking a pivotal moment in the commercial rollout of its sustainable graphene-enhanced natural rubber technologies across India and Asia.

The new venture includes a full-scale upgrade of Asiatic’s manufacturing operations to produce graphene natural rubber carbon black masterbatch—currently being tested by top-tier Indian tyre producers.

Alongside this collaboration, Perpetuus is in talks with Kerala Rubber Ltd. to build a cutting-edge 80,000 sq. ft. graphene masterbatch facility in Kottayam, slated to open in 2027. Once operational, the plant will deliver industrial-scale production to support India’s tyre market and a range of elastomer industries, including conveyor belts, gaskets, and industrial hoses.

The initiative supports India’s national ambitions to advance sustainable manufacturing and materials innovation, establishing Kerala as a key centre for graphene-enhanced elastomer production. It also reinforces Perpetuus’s mission to drive greener, smarter, and scalable solutions for the global tyre industry.

Perpetuus’s patented graphene masterbatch enhances performance by improving tyre durability, wet grip, and fuel efficiency. The ready-to-mix format integrates smoothly into manufacturing workflows, cutting emissions, lowering energy demands, and promoting safer working conditions.

“This strategic partnership demonstrates the commercial maturity of our technology.” said John Buckland, CEO of Perpetuus Advanced Materials. “We’ve moved from launch to regional production, and shortly to global scale-up with our Indian partners who share our vision for next generation, high performance, and sustainable materials.”

In parallel, Perpetuus is expanding its product development to include sustainable reinforcing materials such as recovered carbon black (rCB) and Tyre Derived Polymers (TDP), creating a new generation of graphene-enabled circular elastomers. The company is also developing graphene-enhanced synthetic rubber masterbatches to support global manufacturers seeking to reduce their environmental impact while elevating performance.
