Financial Times names Beyond Law Group Among Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies

Beyond Law Group has been listed among the top-1000 fastest-growing companies in the report published by the Financial Times (FT) in partnership with Statista, and among the top two fastest-growing law firms in Europe. Research company Statista compiled the list, which highlights firms with the highest compound annual growth rate in revenue between 2017 and 2020.

The news of the listing has come at the end of what has been the Group’s most successful year to date, since it was established in 2017. Since then, Beyond Law Group’s organic revenue growth is 328% and the Group’s headcount has increased by more than 250%. Over the last 12 months alone, Beyond Law Group has recruited five partners across all three of its specialist practices, and increased headcount by 30%.

The FT listing is reflective of the success of Beyond Law Group’s three award-winning specialist legal practices: Beyond Corporate Law, Beyond Conveyancing and McAlister Family Law and the vision of the firm overall. The Group runs and manages the practices independently so that its clients have a sense of the personal service associated with a high-quality specialist practice but its people and clients can be confident that they are working with a scaled modern legal business.

Beyond Law Group’s three specialist practices have likewise had a tremendous year. The Group’s Commercial and Corporate Practice, Beyond Corporate, is enjoying continued organic growth and its specialist family and children law practice, McAlister Family Law, was listed in The Times Top 200 law practices across England and Wales in 2022. Beyond Law Group’s third specialist practice, Beyond Conveyancing, which was launched in March 2022, has recently been Highly Commended for Boutique Law Firm of the Year at the British Conveyancing Awards.

The Firm places a strong emphasis on the development of its younger people, with three of its lawyers and one its IT executives being shortlisted at this year’s North-West Young Professional of the Year awards and the Modern Law Awards.

Beyond Law Group’s turnover has grown organically to £8.5m in less than five years, seeing a 13% growth in the last 12 months, and the Group is implementing  ambitious growth plans across all its practices for 2022 and beyond.

A representative of the Financial Times said: “The FT 1000 is the result of a joint initiative by the Financial Times and Statista, which conducted months of research, public calls for participation, intensive database research and directly contacted tens of thousands of companies. In the end, we were able to identify outstanding companies among millions of European enterprises. Beyond Law Group clearly stood out, and as a result will be publicly recognised in the FT as one of Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies.”

Matt Fleetwood, founder and Chief Executive of Beyond Law Group reflects on this achievement: “Being listed as one of Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies by the FT is up there as one of the firm’s proudest achievements to date. We invest significantly in our people, training and technology which has contributed to our strong growth between 2017 and 2020, which further accelerated in 2021. I am also delighted to be able to achieve this organically rather than through acquisition which reflects our investment driven approach.

Our people are deserving of this success, they are best in class: committed, enthusiastic about our plans for growth and all of them play a vital role in making the Group a diverse and vibrant place to be. I am very privileged to lead such exceptional teams.”
