Double award win as Cheshire estate agency celebrates 50 years in business

Wilmslow’s Gascoigne Halman was a double award winner at the EA Masters Awards in London.

Gascoigne Halman won the national award for Best Sales and Lettings Large for firms with more than 21 branches, at the awards dedicated to estate agencies.

Beating competition from across the UK, the award reflects the company’s unwavering commitment to excellence.

John Halman, executive chairman of Gascoigne Halman (pictured), received a standing ovation from more than 1,000 industry peers as he collected a Lifetime Achievement award in recognition of his 50 years in estate agency at the event.

Half century celebrations

Peter Higham, managing director of Gascoigne Halman said: “John is a hugely respected and it was superb to see his half century celebrated by the industry.

“His passion for property has never wavered and has seen Gascoigne Halman grow from a single office in Wilmslow in 1989 to 22 offices and over 200 staff today.  His dedication to outstanding service and innovation is hugely inspirational to our team and winning the Best Sales and Lettings award is testament the impact this has on the business.”

John Halman entered estate agency in 1973 and swiftly reached partner level before deciding to launch his own estate agency – Gascoigne Halman – in 1989.

The business grew throughout the 1990s ending that decade with 14 offices.

John’s philanthropic approach to business has seen the agency raise just short of £100,000 for charities over the years including the David Lewis Centre, The Christie Hospital, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity and three local hospices.
