Charge-M8 Introduces Innovative EV Charger Protection Barriers

Charge-M8, renowned for their expertise in EV charging solutions, are pleased to unveil their latest collection of impact protection barriers for EV chargers, designed to safeguard invaluable EV charging points from accidental vehicle impacts while adhering to UK safety regulations.

The assortment comprises six novel products, including steel quad/tri post barriers, steel U barriers in both narrow and wide variations, and rubber wheel stops available in two sizes, with pricing starting from an affordable £29.97 to £268.97.

Charge-M8 now simplifies the task of protecting your vital EV charging infrastructure. Beyond merely selling these items, they also offer a comprehensive fitting and securing service, ensuring that your EV charging facilities are thoroughly protected and remain secure for an extended period.

As per the BS IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition, codes AG2-AG3 recommend the use of reinforced protection in areas susceptible to medium or high impact severity. The IET Code of Practice for EV Charging Equipment Installation requires that equipment in publicly accessible areas be fortified against impacts of minimum AG2 severity, in accordance with BS76741 (18th Edition). Charge-M8 suggests the strategic use of robust tyre stops as a primary protective measure, backed by impact barriers as a secondary line of defence for situations where tyre stops are bypassed or when a vehicle’s overhang extends beyond their protective coverage.

Julian Smith, CEO of Charge-M8, expressed, “The launch of our impact protection range has garnered significant acclaim from the industry, and we anticipate expanding our selection throughout 2024. We’ve been particularly commended for the superior quality of our products and their rapid delivery, which is incredibly rewarding.”

He further elaborated, “Our decision to create this range was driven by our own challenges in obtaining a consistent supply of impact barriers and tyre stops at reasonable costs. After experiencing numerous order cancellations due to stock inaccuracies, it became evident that we needed to develop our own line. This initiative not only benefits our projects but also supports the wider community of EV installers by ensuring their assets are adequately protected.”

Designed with the protection of EV assets in mind, these barriers are also versatile enough for broader applications, such as demarcating areas or establishing safety zones, making them suitable for warehouses, storage units, manufacturing sites, and parking facilities.

The series is readily available for order online with immediate dispatch. For bulk orders or discounts, installers are invited to consult with Charge-M8’s Technical Experts, who can offer tailored advice to meet specific needs. Reach out to us via phone or by filling out the enquiry form on the Charge-M8 website for more information.
