Detection Skills eliminates that disconnect by incorporating triage, investigation, and continuous optimization directly into each detection through the Agent Skills framework originally developed by Anthropic. As a result, every detection carries the knowledge needed to support informed response decisions.

Automate investigations from the moment an alert appears. Detection Skills launches AI-driven triage and investigative workflows immediately after a detection is triggered, helping organizations reduce mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to respond (MTTR). Analysts receive complete evidence packages, allowing them to focus on incidents that require expert judgment.
Expand security expertise across the organization. A Detection Skill only needs to be created once before it can be applied consistently to future alerts. Engineers remain in control of every AI recommendation through transparent reasoning, clear documentation, and approval workflows that prevent unauthorized changes.
Deploy without replacing existing tools. Detection Skills integrates with current security environments while introducing new AI capabilities. The release includes the Agentic Detection Library with more than 50 Detection Skills created by Vega Research and partner organizations. Developers can also use the sandbox environment to build, validate, export, and share standards-compliant detections through GitHub.
Detection Skills has already been validated through the Vega Cyber Defense Platform, which serves as the reference implementation for the standard. Powered by the Security Analytics Mesh (SAM), the platform performs detection and investigation directly where enterprise data resides, including cloud object storage, legacy SIEM deployments, and data lakes, avoiding the cost and complexity of moving security data.
