Rapsodo brings data-driven practice to more UK golf clubs through GCMA partnership

Golf clubs across the UK will have more opportunities to explore technology-led practice facilities following a new partnership between Rapsodo and the Golf Club Management Association (GCMA). The sports technology company will work with the association to introduce club managers to accessible driving range solutions that combine performance insights with interactive features to improve the golfer experience.

In less than a year since its launch, Rapsodo Range has been installed at more than 10 locations across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Designed for independent range operators and golf clubs, the platform combines ball and club tracking with video replay and interactive practice experiences.

Bringing advanced technology within reach

Through Rapsodo Range, facilities can modernise their practice areas without an upfront investment beyond a refundable security deposit. Flexible agreements and the option to begin with only a few bays give clubs greater control over implementation. Its space-efficient design also makes it suitable for venues that cannot accommodate, or do not require, a traditional large driving range. Installation is generally achievable within one day, subject to site conditions.

Golfers can access 11 performance metrics, including ball speed, carry distance, club speed and launch angle. Video replay, virtual golf courses and interactive games complement the data, helping players better understand their performance while making practice more enjoyable. These capabilities can also give operators new ways to boost participation, encourage return visits and keep facilities active throughout the year.

Matthew Rigby, Rapsodo’s Director of International Markets, said: “Driving range technology should be accessible to clubs of different sizes, not just large commercial facilities. Our growing UK installation base demonstrates demand for a flexible, cost-effective solution that benefits golfers and makes commercial sense for facilities. Through the GCMA, we look forward to bringing that opportunity to more club managers.”

The benefits are evident at Middleton Hall Golf Club, which now uses Rapsodo Range across all eight of its driving range bays. David Freeman, Director at the club, said: “We were impressed by the exceptional value for money and how easy the system was to set up. The results speak for themselves: increased footfall, higher revenue and extremely positive feedback.”

The GCMA partnership will help members assess how Rapsodo Range could enhance existing practice facilities, encourage greater golfer participation and open up new commercial possibilities without undertaking major redevelopment projects.

Darren Wood, GCMA Partnerships Manager, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Rapsodo as a new GCMA partner, strengthening our network of leading organizations supporting golf clubs and the people who manage them. This partnership will provide opportunities for GCMA members to learn more about Rapsodo’s technology and its applications within golf, while enabling Rapsodo to build closer relationships with club managers and professionals across the UK.”
