Sapyen Launches Integrated At-Home Fertility Testing to Improve Early Diagnosis for Couples

Fertility testing across the UK is evolving, with a growing move away from lengthy, multi-step processes. Couples are increasingly able to carry out tests at home and attend their initial clinic appointments with results already prepared.

Sapyen, a fertility diagnostics provider working with IVF clinics such as Avenues, has introduced a combined testing suite designed to simplify early-stage fertility assessment. The system brings together male fertility hormone testingfemale AMH testing, and laboratory semen analysis within a single workflow.

The process is designed to be accessible. A male hormone panel measures testosterone, FSH, and LH, while a female AMH test provides insight into ovarian reserve. Each is priced at £69. These tests can be complemented by a £149 semen analysis, carried out in a laboratory using samples collected at home.

The key advantage lies in integration. Rather than completing tests separately over time, couples can undergo a coordinated assessment before their first consultation, allowing clinicians to begin with a clearer clinical picture.

This has immediate benefits for care pathways. Delays are often caused by fragmented testing and limited early engagement from male partners. By bringing both individuals into the process at the same time, clinicians can move more efficiently towards diagnosis and treatment decisions.

The focus on male testing is particularly significant. Although male factors play a role in around half of infertility cases, testing has often been limited to sperm analysis. By adding hormone testing, the approach captures both physical and hormonal factors, offering a more complete assessment.

For female patients, AMH testing provides an early signal that can help guide planning and expectations. Sapyen’s transport capabilities ensure that semen samples collected at home can be analysed without the usual time constraints, maintaining accuracy and reliability.

The system is designed for easy adoption by clinics, with results delivered in standard formats that fit into existing processes. For patients, it offers a more straightforward and efficient experience.

The result is a more informed starting point for fertility care — one where couples are assessed together, clinicians gain earlier clarity, and the journey forward becomes more defined from the outset.
