REBECCA JONES JOINS MCCANN MANCHESTER AS HEAD OF PR

McCann Worldgroup’s Manchester agency, McCann Manchester, has hired Rebecca Jones as head of PR.

The appointment comes as the agency continues to invest in talent to support its ambitious growth plans.

Jones joins the 400-strong agency to further develop its PR offering and to accelerate growth, both as a standalone discipline and part of its integrated offer. Current PR clients include Bupa, Royal London, Thornton and Ross, and regional whiskey distillery, Aber Falls.

She brings a wealth of experience with her having led global and local PR for P&G brands, including Head&Shoulders and Pantene for over seven years as well as a raft of other consumer and B2B clients. Previous agency experience includes Ketchum and Finn.

On joining, McCann Manchester she said: “I was attracted by the opportunity to work within an agency renowned for delivering meaningful results driven campaigns, with access to a brilliant multi disciplinary team with creativity at its heart.

“I had also heard consistently positive things about the culture and values of the agency and its people and I’m thrilled to be joining a business that ranks so high on the gender inclusivity table with a 65% female Senior team.

To the future, Jones continued: “The turbulence of the last couple of years, threw all marketing disciplines under the spotlight. I believe PR shone, the affordable, fleet of foot, agile discipline took its place at the strategy table and I am looking forward to building on this and driving brand fame for our clients.

CEO, Karen Buchanan said: “You meet some people and instantly know they are going to make a real difference to the business, I felt this as soon as I met Rebecca. We are delighted to have her on board.”
