ANWYL TO BREAK GROUND ON THE THIRD PHASE OF SHAVINGTON TRIANGLE

Work is due to start this month on a new 84-home development near Crewe, after Anwyl Homes acquired an eight-acre site.

Located off Newcastle Road, Shavington, the site has planning permission for 59 private sale homes and 25 new affordable homes, in a mix of bungalow, mews, semi-detached and detached designs, alongside public open space and a new play area.

The development will be named Queen’s Meadow in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the street names will be named after Her Majesty’s favourite horses, as the site had previously been used as an equestrian paddock.

It is estimated the project will support around 260 local jobs.

Phil Dolan, managing director for Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said: “We’re really pleased to be starting work this month on what will be a superb development, in a really desirable semi-rural yet well-connected part of Cheshire.

Queen’s Meadow is part of the wider Shavington Triangle project that is bringing much needed new homes to the area in a sustainable location, designated for housing under the local plan.

Phil added: “Housebuilding and the property industries have an important role to play in the economy providing jobs, investment in the community and addressing the housing shortage by increasing the opportunities for people to buy houses.  We’re committed to buying sustainable sites in sought-after locations across North Wales and the North West of England to provide much needed new homes.

“We also want to provide homes for as many different types of buyer as possible so we are building a range of house types from one to four bedrooms.”

Located on the edge of the village of Shavington, and close to Nantwich and Crewe, Anwyl’s development will represent the third and final phase of Shavington Triangle.

As part of a hybrid planning consent, Anwyl also gained outline planning permission for a 700 square metre retail unit to the north west of the site with parking area.

Also linked to the planning application, Anwyl will make contributions to the local community totalling nearly £600,000, including £70,000 towards recreation and outdoors sports, over £225,000 towards educational provision, over £80,000 towards local NHS healthcare provision, £20,000 towards community facilities within Shavington-Cum-Gresty Parish Council and £20,000 towards community facilities within Wynbunbury Parish Council, and circa £170,000 via the Community Infrastructure Levy.

Anwyl is already well-known in the area for its Alexandra Gardens development, off Sydney Road, Crewe, where it is building a range of three and four-bedroom homes within walking distance of the town centre.

Headquartered just over the Welsh border in Ewloe, Flintshire, Anwyl is a family run business and takes a thoughtful approach to creating its developments, focusing on building communities that include new homes, green spaces, play areas and more. See www.anwylhomes.co.uk for more information.
